When We Are Closedclosed_sign

When the surgery is closed, for urgent medical situations, call the Urgent Care Service on 111. Calls are free from both landlines and mobile phones.

Trained staff will ask you more about the problem and, with you, will decide the best option for you.

Depending on the severity of your condition, this might be:

  • Advice over the phone,
  • A visit to a local treatment centre, or
  • A home visit by a nurse, doctor or paramedic

Other Services

Weymouth Community Hospital - Urgent Treatment Centre

Open from 8.00am to 8.00pm, seven days a week, the Urgent Treatment Centre is located in same part of the hospital, in Melcombe Avenue, as the existing MIU and Walk-in Centre.  It will provide treatment for problems such as:

  • minor burns, cuts, animal bites and infected wounds

  • bladder and kidney infections

The Urgent Treatment Centre will not be a substitute for GP treatment.

Visit a local pharmacy

Your local paper will have details of pharmacies open late on weekdays and on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergencyNHS ChoicesThis site is brought to you by My Surgery Website
